G2 left no chances for Monte and secured a spot in the playoffs of PGL Astana 2026
The G2 Esports roster faced Monte in a showdown for a place in the playoffs. In the elimination match, the "samurais" decisively defeated their opponent.
The fifth round of the Swiss system, where both teams were one step away from elimination with a 2:2 record, ended in a swift rout. The G2 players dominated throughout the series: on their map Ancient, they allowed the opponent to take only two rounds and defeated them with a score of 13:2, and then confidently closed the opponent's pick Dust2 with a score of 13:4.
Having earned their third victory in the group, G2 Esports headed to the playoffs. For Monte, this defeat was fatal – the team exited the championship.
The final playoff stage of PGL Astana 2026 will start on May 15, 2026. The elimination games will take place in Astana, at the "Barsy Arena," and the tournament with a prize pool of $1.6 million will last until May 17, 2026.
