The second day of the group stage of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 determined the first participants of Stage 2 and the first teams eliminated. BetBoom Team and B8 Esports passed all three rounds of the Swiss bracket without losses and secured their advancement to the next stage. On the opposite end – SINNERS and Gaimin Gladiators: both teams suffered three consecutive losses and exited the tournament.
At the end of the day, six teams are at a 2-1 record and will continue to fight for spots in Stage 2: M80, NRG, GamerLegion, Lynn Vision, MIBR, and BIG. Another six teams are at 1-2 and are one step away from elimination: HEROIC, TYLOO, Thunder Downunder, Team Liquid, FlyQuest, and Sharks.
Stage 1 of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 runs from June 2 to June 5 in a Swiss system. Out of 16 teams, eight will advance to Stage 2 – those who first achieve three victories. Three losses mean elimination. The total prize pool of the tournament is 1.25 million dollars.
