The European CS2 roster of magic won against 9z Team in the quarterfinals of the PGL Astana 2026 LAN tournament. The team has reached the semifinals of a championship of this level for the first time in its history.
The confrontation ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of magic (13:9 on Dust2, 2:13 on Mirage, and 13:11 on Ancient). Thanks to this result, the roster featuring Andrey AW Anisimov and Svyatoslav MaSvAl Masyko has guaranteed itself at least a top-4 finish in the tournament.
The next match involving magic will take place on May 16, 2026, at 13:00 Moscow time. The opponent of the team will be determined after the other quarterfinals. It is worth noting that this is the first major tournament in the history of the tag for magic. Previously, the team made an incredible comeback in the group stage: being on the verge of elimination with a 0-2 record, the team won three matches in a row and advanced to the playoffs.
On the other hand, 9z Team has concluded its participation in PGL Astana 2026. The South American team finished in 5-8 place and earned $40,000 from the total prize pool. Notably, 9z Team reached the playoffs without a single loss, boasting a 3-0 record, but could not handle the pressure from the underdogs in their very first elimination match.
