The documentary series Esports World Cup: Level Up officially returns to screens with its second season. All five episodes dedicated to the grand tournament Esports World Cup 2025 will be released simultaneously on June 26 and will be available exclusively on the streaming platform Prime Video. The project is once again directed by Emmy Award-winning R. J. Cutler, known for his work on "Martha" and "Billie Eilish: The World's A Little Blurry."
The events of the second season unfold during a seven-week festival in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. The series will showcase the human stories behind the largest esports championship. Among the key storylines is the journey of the Mongolian team The MongolZ and its star player Garidmagna "bLitz" Byambasuren in the discipline of Counter-Strike 2. The cameras will also capture Magnus Carlsen (chess), Jacob "Boaster" Holloway (VALORANT), Zeng "Xiao Hai" Zhuojun (Street Fighter), and other renowned esports athletes.
It is worth noting that the Esports World Cup 2025 attracted an incredible 750 million viewers worldwide. The next event, Esports World Cup 2026, will take place in Paris from July 6 to August 23.
