On May 8, 2026, developers from Valve published a list of changes for the fresh update for Counter-Strike 2 in the official Steam news blog. The size of the downloadable patch was about 484.1 MB.
The update primarily focused on fixing technical errors, refining physics, and polishing the recently added Cache map.
Full list of changes:
various fixes and improvements on the Cache map;
new music packs NIGHTMODE II appeared in the in-game store;
the first-person weapon model (viewmodel) is now correctly displayed for other players when observing;
a physics bug was fixed β previously, the bodies of killed characters could unnaturally fly away when hit in certain body parts;
the smoothness of model movements during takeoff and landing has been slightly improved;
- a problem was fixed that caused training guides on the Ancient map not to load in the night version of the location.
It was previously reported that one fan created a skin concept for the PP-19 "Bizon" submachine gun in the style of the fourth reactor block of Chernobyl, which perfectly fits the atmosphere of the updated Cache.
