BLAST officially announced the transition to a new map pool including Cache. Starting from BLAST Bounty Season 2 (beginning July 21), Cache will replace Overpass at all major events of the organization, including BLAST Open Porto and BLAST Rivals in Hong Kong.
The changes will also affect the qualifying stages — almost all Open Qualifiers in Asia, Europe, and South America will also switch to the new pool. The exception will be the qualification in North America, which will be held under the old rules until the end of June.
Valve returned Cache to the Active Duty Map Pool on June 22, 2026. The map underwent a major update and is now officially ready for competitive use at the highest level.
Cache will enter the pool of major events for the first time in several years, and teams are already preparing to rethink their tactical schemes: the map requires a fundamentally different approach to mid-control compared to Overpass.
