G2 Esports officially announced the signing of Vladislav "r1nkle" from Ninjas in Pyjamas. The Ukrainian AWPer will take the place of Álvaro "SunPayus" García, who has been moved to the bench.
The change came after G2's quarterfinal exit from the IEM Cologne Major 2026 — the team lost to Team Spirit. The club's management decided to restructure before the start of the new competitive cycle.
r1nkle will debut for G2 at the BLAST Bounty Season 2, which starts on July 21. Following that, the team will head to Paris for the Esports World Cup 2026 in CS2.
SunPayus spent just over a year with G2. He has several playoff appearances in major tournaments, but the team has yet to achieve consistent results.
