The tournament operator ESL has disqualified the coach of the Brazilian Legacy team, Alan "adr" Riveros, from further participation in the IEM Cologne Major 2026. The coach is prohibited from being behind the players during matches. The reason for the sanctions was a violation of the regulations: he continued to interact with the team and give instructions even after the tactical pauses had ended.
ESLAfter repeated violations of the major rules, it was decided that adr would no longer be allowed to join the team for the remaining matches of the tournament. He received several warnings for interacting with Legacy players during rounds. The last incident was related to using gestures to confirm strategy right during the match.
Previously, Legacy defeated PARIVISION with a score of 2:0 in the IEM Cologne Major 2026: Stage 3, but then lost to G2 Esports and ended their performance in the championship.
IEM Cologne Major 2026 takes place from June 2 to June 21 in Cologne. The 8 strongest teams will compete for the championship title and a prize pool of $1,250,000.
