LGD Gaming defeated PlayTime with a score of 3:0 in the grand final of the closed South American qualifiers for The International 2026, securing the only slot for the region at the main tournament of the year. The best-of-5 series took place on June 20.
Throughout the qualifiers, LGD Gaming lost only one map. For The International 2026, the organization announced a South American roster from the former HEROIC: Yuma "Yuma" Langley, Santiago "TaiLung" Aguero, Adrian "Wisper" Cespedes, Thiago "Thiolicor" Cordeiro, and Mateus "KJ" Diniz, with coach Igor "kaffs" Estevan. The club returned to Dota 2 at the end of May after a two-year hiatus.
LGD Gaming became the third team to secure a spot in the tournament through regional qualifiers. Previously, two slots were taken by the Chinese teams Team Resilience and Vici Gaming. The International 2026 will take place in Shanghai from August 13 to 23.
