The Ukrainian Esports Federation (UCF) has disqualified ten players from CS2 and Dota 2 for competing in rosters alongside citizens of Russia. Alexander s1mple Kostylev, who was included in the list, responded publicly.
s1mpleThe people who made this decision do not understand esports at all.
The player also pointed out the double standards in the organization's approach to such decisions.
Full list of disqualified players:
CS2: s1mple, zont1x, nifee, s-chilla, baz.
Dota 2: Yatoro, lorenof, No[o]ne, Mira, kaori.
According to the UCF, the reason was "participation in rosters alongside players from the Russian Federation." The players lose organizational support from the federation and are deprived of the right to participate in competitions under its auspices. The disqualification period lasts until June 2027.
It is worth noting that the UCF also linked its actions to the exclusion of Russian and Belarusian participants from international tournaments, particularly the Esports Nations Cup 2026.
