Valve released a balance update 7.41d for Dota 2 on the night of June 5, 2026. According to the developers' summary, the patch includes over 200 changes: 48 heroes received buffs, while 23 were nerfed. Items, the neutral pool, spells, and general map mechanics were affected.
Among the notable nerfs are Tiny and Kez, who dominated the professional meta at BLAST Slam VII. Tiny had his Innate Insurmountable weakened, the cooldown on Tree Grab increased, and the range of Tree Throw reduced. Kez lost some agility damage from his katana style, received longer cooldowns on Kazurai Katana and Shodo Sai, and the level 10 talent was changed from “+12% magic resistance” to “+6% bonuses when switching combat styles.”
Valve also made adjustments to Snapfire, Hoodwink, Clockwerk, Rubick, Phoenix, and Lich. On the other hand, Mars, Ancient Apparition, Brewmaster, Abaddon, and Dragon Knight received significant buffs. Huskar's Burning Spear damage was reduced from 5/10/15/20 to 4/8/12/16.
A separate section covers neutral items and spells. Bloodrush for Flayer's Bota, False Flight for Idol of Scree'auk, Balance for Harmonizer, and several other artifacts were reworked. The spells Alert, Timeless, and Titanic were nerfed, while Vital received a small buff to regeneration.
In general mechanics, the behavior of Town Portal Scroll was changed: teleporting to oneself now lands the hero slightly closer to the Ancient, and effects of similar abilities partially follow the unit if it moves during the channel. Dagon and Mage Slayer were adjusted, and using Smoke of Deceit now triggers a message in the team chat.
The patch was released against the backdrop of the seasonal event Quartero's Curios – players are still leveling up the track of free rewards for matches, including Turbo. The full list of changes is available on Valve's official page.
