At the end of April 2026, the legendary Cache map returned to CS2. It had been absent from the game for a whole seven years: during this time, we witnessed not only the departure of CS:GO but also global changes in the pro scene and even the emergence of trendy terminals replacing cases. Notably, Valve returned not just the old map, but a modified, and in some places, completely new Cache. The meta on this map has also changed β some players have to learn grenades from scratch. The most effective and popular throws on the new Cache map in CS2 are in our guide.## T-side: smokes for mid
On the updated Cache, mid still determines how comfortably the T-side will take connector and mid, as well as how early the CT site will get kills and information or suffer from an execute. The starting smokes are almost a basic minimum: they don't require memorization, are standard, but at the same time disrupt the usual timings and tactics of the CTs. The first smoke cuts off the player behind "white." Aim slightly above the second white stripe on the right, using the letter "A" on the marking as a reference (see the screenshot). The timing is simple: after the white stripe, jump while running and release the smoke in the air. Important note: if the CT has already climbed onto the box above, just the smoke won't resolve the situation β the position remains dangerous.
When you need to not just cover the connector but completely cut off mid (for example, to take the stairs), you can use a wall of smokes. The first smoke is thrown through the left doorframe: the upper beam and the center of the second window, the second β through the right doorframe: the beam is the same, but aim at the corner of the second window. After setting your aim, the smokes need to be thrown from the spot and without jumping.
*For the wall of smokes, the smoke for the left roof above the coil/cement is perfect. Just move to the trash can at spawn, center your aim on the corner of the building and send the smoke while jumping from the spot.
By the way, burning opponents also looks optimal here. For example, to deal fire damage to players on and under the roof, stand at the corner of the green tiled wall on the way to the squeaky under point A and orient yourself by the high black stripes on the texture.* After one step while holding Shift, jump and throw the Molotov Cocktail, after which the fire will fill the roof and the hiding spot beneath it.
The A site on the Cache map has plenty of space, and there are also many positions and angles here. With just one smoke, you can cut off part of the back site, the car, and even short, and then push into the plant. Just stand at the corner under the marking "04," aim at the upper awning, and throw the smoke from the spot.
Thanks to the holes in the windows for the B-site, the attacking side also has a wide selection of throws. If the main goal is to burn the anchors, keep in mind the combination of molotovs for damage to the main positions of the plant: a lot of molotovs are thrown from almost one point, and these same lineups help during the retake for the CT side. Just set your aim as shown in the screenshots and give it a try.
For closing "nine," a separate smoke is needed: the position matches the previously mentioned molotovs, but the aim is set slightly above the hole in the wall. Keep the upper edge aligned with the left corner of the hole, and throw this smoke again without steps and jumps.
On Cache, the throws for the CT side look quite simple and clear. The anchor on A definitely needs a quick and good smoke in "main." Aim by the front of the truck, place your aim between the two windows (as shown in the screenshot), and throw the smoke from the spot.
*On the B-site, the starting smoke is literally thrown from "CT." Just follow the references from the picture, hold W, and throw the grenade in time.
Lastly, a separate story is the NBK flash for point A. To throw such a flashbang, stand by the blue door in the corner and send the grenade into the green railing almost with the calculation for a ricochet.* Notably, this lineup looks like a pop-flash to the opponents.
These are the most basic and effective grenades for the updated Cache in CS2. Let us know if these lineups were useful to you and in what situation they helped. Additionally, you can share your opinion or even your own unique throws!
