On July 7, the Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2026 began at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles - on the first day, 24 teams played two matches, and group leaders had already emerged.

PARIVISION and 1win Team (formerly Tundra Esports) opened the tournament with 2:0 victories - both teams were the only ones to finish the first day with a perfect score. PARIVISION beat Vici Gaming in Group C, 1win dealt with their opponents in Group D without losses. The rest of the CIS representatives performed more modestly. Team Spirit in Group C drew 1:1 with MOUZ: the first game lasted for 69 minutes and ended with a Spirit comeback, but in the second match the Germans took revenge in 53 minutes. BetBoom Team in Group A shared points with the Falcons - 1:1. In Group A, GamerLegion was in the lead after the first day, and in Group B, Aurora Gaming and Nigma Galaxy shared first place. Tournament format: 24 teams in four groups of six, BO2 in the group stage from July 7 to 12. The group winners go directly to the playoffs, teams from 2nd to 4th place go to the survival stage, the last two are eliminated. The prize pool is 750,000 from the EWC's total 25 million pool.
