FURIA defeated Aurora Gaming with a score of 2:0 (Dust2 13:9, Nuke 13:4) in the first semifinal of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 and, for the first time in the organization's history, reached the grand final of a major. The match took place on June 20 at the LANXESS arena in Cologne.
This is FURIA's best result at majors: the previous achievement was reaching the semifinals at the tournament in Rio in 2022. In Cologne, the team delivered their fifth consecutive victory, and for Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, the title would be his third at tournaments of this level.
On Dust2, the Brazilians unexpectedly started the map chosen by Aurora as terrorists and had a rough start (0:3), but Kaike "KSCERATO" Serrato turned the half around with an AK and an ace at the end – 7:5 after the first side and 13:9 in the end. On Nuke, FURIA again did not allow the opponent to gather: Daniil "molodoy" Golubenko finished the map with a rating of 1.49, an average of 110 damage per round, and three multi-kills, while KSCERATO finished off Aurora with four frags at the end.
Gabriel "FalleN" ToledoWe are playing the Counter-Strike that brought us victories last year. This is CS where we connect all the elements very quickly and understand well how to help each other. I feel that we are playing good CS right now.
The grand final of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 will take place on June 21 at 18:00 Moscow time in a best-of-5 format. FURIA's opponent will be Team Falcons. The prize pool of the tournament is $1.25 million.
Let us remind you that molodoy and Yekindar previously reached the semifinals of a major for the first time as part of FURIA.
