The "Dark Carnival" has started in Dota 2 – a major summer event with a separate rewards shop and updated content. Valve launched the season on the evening of June 25, and it will last until September 3.
Players have gained access to a themed shop with chests, skins, treasure chests, and candies for upgrading rewards. As part of the event, five new personas have been added, each with unique voice lines and carnival-themed designs.
A separate section features mini-games and activities in the client, which are tied to the overall economy of the event. The community is already discussing screenshots of a possible Arcana for Windranger in the shop, although Valve has not officially confirmed the announcement.
The "Dark Carnival" has replaced expectations for a major balance patch: some players and streamers have perceived the season as a compromise instead of a large-scale meta update.
